Gloamkit is free to use for personal or commercial browsing. Do not repackage or resell it. It changes how pages look; it is a display utility, not a security tool, and it comes with no warranty. Uninstall at any time.
01 · Acceptance
These terms govern your use of the Gloamkit browser extension and the website at gloam-kit.com. Installing or using the kit means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install the kit.
Data handling is described separately in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
02 · Licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use one or more copies of the kit on devices you control, at no charge. You may not:
- Sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise distribute the kit or a modified build of it.
- Repackage it under another name or publish it to any extension store.
- Remove or obscure attribution, version markers or these terms from a redistributed copy.
- Reverse engineer the kit except where such a restriction is void under applicable law.
The name Gloamkit, the kit diamond mark and the site design remain our property. Nothing here transfers them to you.
03 · Acceptable use
- Do not use the kit to bypass a website's paywall, licence terms or access controls.
- Do not use it to misrepresent a page's content to a third party.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or probe gloam-kit.com infrastructure, including the heartbeat endpoint.
- Do not use the kit in any manner that breaks applicable law in your jurisdiction.
04 · Third-party pages
The kit restyles pages published by other people. We do not control those pages and we make no claim about their content, accuracy or safety. Restyling can change how a page appears in ways its author did not intend:
- Colour-coded interfaces — charts, diffs, status indicators — may read differently.
- Some layouts, canvases or embedded frames may not restyle cleanly.
- Custom fonts, images and video are deliberately left untouched.
Where exact colour matters — medical imaging, print proofing, design sign-off, financial dashboards keyed to colour — switch the site out with the per-site cut-out, or stand the kit down entirely. Do not rely on a restyled page for colour-critical decisions.
05 · Availability and updates
The kit is distributed through the Chrome Web Store and updates through it. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, or the kit as a whole, at any time. Browser vendors may also change platform behaviour in ways that affect the kit; we do not guarantee compatibility with any particular browser version beyond the stated minimum of Chrome 106.
06 · No warranty
The kit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the kit will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will render every page correctly.
07 · Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the kit — including any consequence of a page being displayed with altered colour.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited in aggregate to the greater of the amount you paid for the kit (zero) or USD 10. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.
08 · Termination
You may terminate this licence at any time by uninstalling the kit from
chrome://extensions. We may terminate it if you breach these terms. On
termination, your licence ends and the extension's local storage is removed by the browser.
There is no account to close, and we hold nothing of yours to return.
09 · Changes and governing terms
We may revise these terms. The revision number and effective date at the top of this page are updated when we do, and continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you hold locally.
